Remediation

Remediation

Contaminated sites may require a variety of surface and subsurface investigations, including underground storage tank (UST) decommissioning projects, risk assessments (RAs), and remedial investigation (RI) and feasibility studies (FS), as well as remedial design activities.  HAI has the expertise to help our clients to achieve the cleanup of contaminated soil and groundwater, as well as regulatory site closure (e.g. "No Further Action" (NFA)), in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Brownfield Redevelopment

A Brownfield is a property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.  HAI has a strong local reputation for managing and guiding complex Brownfield assessment and cleanup projects through the due diligence and site re-development process in urban settings.  We have expertise in Brownfields grant/loan application assistance, Targeted Brownfield Assessments (TBAs), technical assistance and negotiations among involved parties (including Prospective Purchaser Agreements), remediation, and construction oversight.  Two of our projects, The Watershed and the former St. Vincent de Paul property, have won awards for excellence in Brownfield redevelopment.
